After talking about it for much too long, the time to take action is here and I am launching Great Communicate, a blog by me, Bryant Hilton.
Strange name? Perhaps — the forum is about how great communications can help anyone do great things. And it’s about how anyone can be a great communicator, if you follow a few simple rules of thumb. As for arguments over the grammatical accuracy of the name, what can I say, I fell for the alliteration and wanted to get this started quickly.
A next logical question would be, exactly what makes me qualified to talk about great communications? I’m a communications professional with seventeen years of wide-ranging experience. I’ve spent time working for and with some of the largest companies in the world, for two different communications agencies and with non-profits. Some of my employers have had tens of thousands of employees, others, fewer than 20. I’ve provided communications advice to colleagues ranging from CEOs to program managers. I’ve worked in and outside of the U.S. I’ve managed communications for everything from politically-oriented policy campaigns to new consumer product launches.
In short, I have many different experiences in, well, communicating, and have seen what can work and what does not. I’ve decided to share those here. Every effort will be made to make this an interesting and witty forum that is also informative.
A short disclosure, as I launch this forum, I am an employee of Dell Inc. Great Communicate is a personal forum and does not represent the views of that corporation. While I may share experiences from my time at Dell, information of a confidential nature to which I have access won’t be discussed here.
And finally, my intent is to make this forum as interactive as possible. I am reaching out to hear comments, questions and ideas through Great Communicate. I look forward to our discussions.
With that, welcome, I hope you enjoy reading.

Bryant – you communicate great! I love the grammatical question… it begs for further reading. One must search out the explanation. Looking for more great reading – can’t wait!
